Private Company Data for Better Decision Making.
It's a pleasure to welcome our Exhibition Partner, Bureau Van Dijk, to the 6th MDM ThinkLab on the 24th-25th of October in Berlin. We had a chat with Christian Völkel, Team Leader Corporates at Bureau Van Dijk, to find out a bit more about their perspective and contribution to Master Data.
Christian Völkel, pleasure to welcome you and Bureau Van Dijk for the first time as a Partner of our 6th MDM ThinkLab. To begin with, can you please share with us how does your organisation help extracting value from data?
We capture and treat private company information for better decision making and increased efficiency. With information on more than 310 million companies in all countries worldwide we are the resource for private company data. Content that you can use for your data enrichment projects includes detailed financials, financial strength data and other risk metrics, extensive corporate structures, B2B sales and marketing intelligence and company verification details.
We had a chat a few weeks ago with the Scott Taylor, who mentioned "dealing with disparate data sources and data silos" as one of the most common challenges in the data sphere. Why is it so and how does BVD help addressing that?
Our unique identifiers and bespoke matching/de-duping and data enhancing services mean you can create links between disparate datasets across your organization and create single views from data silos.
With the amount of data increasing exponentially over the last few years, what do you foresee as the biggest trends in Master Data in 2020?
In terms of private company information we feel that one of the biggest trends is to understand better who you are doing business with. That includes revealing the ownership of your potential and existing business partners and third-party associates, including the beneficial owners, so you can review their corporate group as a whole and check it for adverse news as well as PEPs and sanctions. It also includes indirect and circular ownership links.
In terms of connectivity it is the expertise in delivering solutions across a wide range of data formats, and systems, including SAP, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, credit solutions and other in-house systems.
Finally, as a first time Partner of our MDM ThinkLab, what are you looking forward to the most at our event and what can our audience expect from you?
We look forward to discuss MDM trends and learn about the challenges of the organisations present. What we will contribute is an in-depth understanding of private company information and beneficial ownership structures.
Thank you for your contribution, Christian, and we look forward meeting you and the BVD team on the 24th and 25th of October in Berlin!
